Hagyard Fayette Stakes at Keeneland, Sat., Oct 26

In today’s premier race at Keeneland, the Hagyard Fayette Stakes in the 9th at 1 1/8 mi. on dirt, the Handicap Wizard correctly predicted the winner with its top selection in #3 Tom’s D’Etat at 3-2. It also had the tri-fecta horses in its top four selections. Tom’s D’tat paid $5.00 to win and the $0.50 tri-fecta paid $19.75. Given that the four top horses had equal probabilities of about 17%, boxing all four horses in the tri-fecta was a sensible wager.

The English Channel at Belmont, Sat., Oct. 26

In the 5th race at Belmont, the $100K English Channel Stakes for three year-old on the turf at 1M, the Handicap Wizard Turf program correctly predicted #5 Seismic Wave to win as its top selection with a 22.3% winning probability. The horse came from behind down the stretch in the center to skate in before the wire. Seismic Wave paid $11.40 for the win and was the third favorite according to the odds.

Race 2 at Belmont, Sat., Oct. 26

There was a nice result today in the 2nd at Belmont for the Handicap Wizard, a $25K claiming race for fillies and mares at 6f on the dirt. #1 Walin Jose was the long-shot in the field at 30-1, yet had relatively strong E1, E2 and composite figures of 32.1%, 44.7% and a COMP of 28.1% according to the program, indicating strong value for that distance. In the race, #10 Wisconsin Night at 2-1 led until the quarter pole, before Walin Jose made a 5 wide bid in the center of the track to run down the field. Walin Jose paid $62 to win and the place paid $21.40. Trusting in the mathematics of the composite figure—the summation of E1, E2 and LP simulated—paid off well for Walie Jose
